Estab. 1959, The Most Trusted and Successful Card Counting System What is a Card Counting System? Card Counting is a technique used by Blackjack players to let them know the proper time to Hit or Stand, thereby reducing the number of times they will bust their hand. Card counting only works if the cards are dealt from the deck or a shoe. Some Las Vegas and Atlantic City resort hotels have eliminated shoes at their $5.00 tables, and replaced them with automatic shuffling machines that speed up the game by 20%. Professional card counting requires a known number of cards in a shoe, usually 4, 6, or 8 decks. You will not win when the cards are dealt out from continuous shufflers! This does not affect experienced card counters who regularly play from shoes at the $25.00 and $100.00 tables, but most novice players prefer to get accustomed to card counting at $5.00 tables. High Card advantage: 50% of the time, the second half of the shoe will be richer with High Cards. You should double-down on 9, 10, 11 and split all 10 value pairs, unless the Dealer’s upcard is an Ace. Right now the above instructions may somewhat puzzle you, but after viewing the DVD and playing a few hands, you will see that it is an extremely simple process. The casinos are always on the look-out for “systems players.†1. Whenever possible, change casinos after every sitting. 2. Indian casinos: Do not play back-to-back sittings at the same casino unless it’s the end of one work shift and the beginning of another. Unwind for an hour in the Bingo room, it’s fun! 3. Purchase several “assorted colors†baseball caps and wear a different color every time you enter any of the casinos in which you previously played. 4. Keep a small notebook at hand to remember the casino, date, time, and cap color. CAUTION: If you’re a $25.00 or higher bettor, you are subject to being monitored. Since the Dealers are only capable of precisely keeping tabs on one bettor at a time, most often they will concentrate on the highest or second highest consistent wager on the table. If that player doubles or triples his bets after half of the shoe has been played out, the Dealer will signal the Floor Manager. (The 3rd highest bettors hardly ever get monitored.) Mai had me sit on the back bench seat because it would be more comfortable. We drove for around half an hour and stopped at a town called Pathum Thani about 20 miles north of Bangkok. I assumed we had arrived at the seminary but I didn’t see it. We all got out of the van and viewed numerous acres of rice paddies for a few minutes. Mai said since this was my first visit to Thailand, she thought it might interest me how rice is grown. We got back in the van and continued driving north. After a while, I lied down and slept for about an hour. I asked Mai when we would arrive, and she said “soon.†I dozed off again, but woke up uncomfortably cold. I noticed we were in the mountains and it was 10:45. Again I asked Mai how long before we would get to the monastery, and she again said soon and handed me a shawl. Finally the driver parked high up a mountain. Nothing was there but stone steps that were chiseled out of solid rock. The steps were old and worn, and in several places the outer barrier half-wall had fallen away where cast iron posts and link chains were installed. All of these people who were twice my age easily climbed the steps, but my legs were aching and I had to stop a few times to catch my breath. The wind was gusting and I was freezing. We entered a large room that looked like a blacksmith shop with black metal tools hanging from the walls, and some were laid out on an oversized thick wood table next to a very hot forge. The place was cluttered, but wonderfully warm. The Monk introduced himself as Lek and gestured me to sit on a stool, then from a big bubble of molten glass he formed my image. Everybody smiled and nodded that it was a good likeness, however I am mostly bald and the only thing familiar to me was the hairline. It was very warm and we drank cool tea, then Lek took me into a sitting room with a coffee table that had several small yellow tiles scattered on top. Lek wasn’t asking me a question, he simply stated “You like magic!†I replied yes, and he said 19 of the tiles had red symbols on the underside, 19 were black, and one was green. He asked me to turn over one of the tiles. I did, and it was green! Lek asked me to mix up the tiles and see if I again could choose the green one. Once more I picked out the green tile. He then asked me to turn over the rest of the tiles. All of them were red or black! I am a knowledgeable magician, and to this day I still haven’t figured out how he did it. We talked for quite a while and Lek explained “enlightenment†to me, but mostly he was curious about the United States. We went back to the blacksmith room where Mai and her people were waiting for me. The sculpture had cooled. The weird thing is, now I could see a clear-cut resemblance! I assumed that Lek was going to give it to me as a gift, but he opened a long wall cabinet and placed it inside among dozens of similar sculptures. I took the boat back to the hotel by myself, because Mai and her friends had previous plans. The next morning I went down to the buffet about 8:00 and asked the waiter if Mai and her husband had yet come down for breakfast. He told me they weren’t hotel guests. When I asked how he knew that, he said they had paid for yesterday’s breakfast. Although I never saw Mai again, several years later this incident led me to Wat Bovornnivet Voravihan, the center of operations and campus of the Buddhist Religion. Unexpectedly I was personally escorted by a Senior psychic Monk named Won, to view a fragment from the arm bone of Lord Buddha at “Rama 9†(the King’s personal Temple). Won and his brother Win who is a Head Monk, are the famous Twin Monks of Thailand. Won has since become a close personal friend. Head Monk Pra Sathan who at that time was personal secretary to “His Holiness the Supreme Patriarch,†arranged a private audience and blessing for me. I am acquainted with all nine Head Monks of Thailand. Everybody except Won refers to me as Loong David, which is an endearment that literally means uncle. Won is the only person who simply calls me David. I have no idea why these things happened to me, because I don’t believe I radiate a psychic persona. To the best of my knowledge I have no psychic abilities, although I do have keen instincts and my guesses are usually right on target. While I deeply respect the peacefulness of Buddhism, I have no desire to adopt a formal religion. The common ground I share with the Thai people is, that I too believe in fate. The destiny of being in the right place at the right time has always been my philosophy. I read in the newspaper that a corporation called Charoen Pokphand Seeds Co., LTD developed a fragrant hybrid rice called Pathum Thani 1. Instantly I recognized the town name and that afternoon went to their headquarters. I learned that this new breed yields up to 700 kilograms per rai compared to 300 kilograms for regular Jasmine rice. Moreover, this new hybrid requires less sunlight and water, so it can be grown in the middle of the country. Best of all, the insects don’t eat it which is an ongoing problem with regular rice. 2-½ rai equals an acre, and most small farmers have about 10-12 rai of paddies. These farmers earn less than $100.00 per month and have to save up enough money to buy seed. Of course I am limited in what I can do, but I made arrangements with two seed suppliers to give the poorest farmers a one time only deal. Immediately after my experience at the monastery, I attempted to re-create Lek’s illusion by experimenting with 38 red and black playing cards plus a single joker, in lieu of his yellow tiles. Although I was unable to duplicate Lek’s phenomenon, it was my good fortune to stumble upon a completely new psychic playing card illusion. Since I am retired to my family in Florida and no longer in need of confidentiality, I now wish to divulge and share with my players, the “37 year secret†to this illusion which I have included in the Manual Packet as an appreciation gift. THE ILLUSION AS PERCEIVED BY THE PARTICIPANT: A “patsy†or “mark†is a person who unfortunately is in a situation where he can easily be taken advantage of. Since I never seek to profit from performing this illusion, I prefer to use the term “participant.†It is important that the participant is convinced that no trickery such as “marked cards†is going on, so I always ask him to bring his own deck of playing cards. I have him remove the jokers and shuffle the cards. I then instruct him to turn a card over face up, and place it on the table. If it happens to be a red suit, I ask him to place every card in the deck that he senses to be RED, face down on top of the face-up red card that he just turned over. Whenever he feels that a card is not red, he should place it in the discard pile. Sometimes the participant is a bit hesitant to follow my instructions because he is fully aware that he doesn’t possess ESP sensitivity, and realizes the odds are 50/50 that the cards he is placing on top of the face-up red card, are a mix of both red and black. But still, the participants always cooperate. After all of the cards are dealt out, I bet one penny that the first card the participant turns over from the stack of cards which he just created, will in fact be red! I always win! We proceed to bet “double-or-nothing†and I tell him the game will end when all of the cards have been dealt out, or he can quit whenever he wishes and we will settle any amount of pennies we may owe. No one has ever quit, and the average number of cards that I consecutively identify by color is 25. Please use your calculator and double the one penny bet (.02 .04 .08 .16 .32 .64 $1.28 etc.) twenty-five times, and you will see that it quickly adds up to many thousands of dollars. Since he knows that I have not touched his cards, the participant suspects that I somehow controlled his mind and movements, because all of the cards that he just placed face-down, on top of the face-up red card, are RED! Because he just now performed an “impossible†feat, the participant’s reaction is total awe, and he is further stunned when he realizes how many thousands of dollars he owes me. I always win a minimum of $5,000.00, and it is not unusual for the amount to grow well above that figure. But I let the participant off the hook by offering to cancel the amount owing, if he consents to fulfill some hometown community volunteer work of his own choosing. Everyone agrees to this proposal. “Telepathic Thought Transference†is not officially recognized as a plausible concept, because mind-reading has never been scientifically confirmed. (It is merely coincidental that my illusion fits the description and definition of this catchphrase.) Reactions to the illusion vary, and sometimes they are quite profound! On one occasion a devoutly religious lady became convinced that she witnessed a true miracle and “absolutely knew without doubt†that I was an angel, and some people become traumatized in disbelief. My secret misdirection ploy, tricks the participants’ minds to believe that I indeed manipulated their thoughts. They usually picture me as being a highly credible telepathist and often aspire to become my close friend and confidant, so I get lots of dinner invitations. The reason why the participants never figure out how I do this is, because it is too simple! My closely held secret requires no practice, and you too will easily be able to do it!
